Overcoming stress: Is it possible?

People of all ages undergo forms of stresses in their daily living. Others are overwhelmed and get sick by the heaps of tensions that they experience day in and day out.
I am wondering what remedies can you think of to fight stress. What pieces of advice can you give to a person who seems helpless in overcoming stress?
Stress can be experienced at work, in a relationship, within your family members or whatever situation you are in. What proven and tested tips can you give to a person wanting a solution to whatever form of stress he is encountering?

Its hard to kill stress but there are certain kind of things by which stress can be killed ,eg,certain kind of stress helps as an motivating fator to do a better job which created stress for you ,You can start to manage stress by making the commitment to take responsibility for your emotional life....try this out you will learn to kill stress

i think the main reason for stress among young people is peer pressure...the pressure to look a certain way... to measure up to colleagues in the workplace... to live up to the family’s expectations... and so on...
but i guess the solution lies in building standards for your own self according to your own capabilities so you know what you are capable of doing...
when you dont overstretch yourself you always have enough reserves of energy to rejuvenate yourself mentally at the end of each day and you start afresh every morning!!

Stress is an individualistic thing. Something that is stressful to one may not be stressful to the other. I go in line with what has been mentioned by the previous commentators. Though the ultimate remedy is changing one’s mindset to a positive one, other factors like exercising (resulting in endorphin release), engaging in more recreational activities, and leading a healthy lifestyle do help. It is not that stress is always due to negative events it can happen due to positive events also.

Stress is a part of life. It gives us the eagerness to combat it under extreme conditions. If we are able to fight stress and live life with zest, it means that we are able to cope with life’s daily battles.
